This style of Norse/Viking purse is based on period examples found at the archaeological dig at Birka. The fittings on the bag and the bags shape are typical of those found at the dig. This is a large bag made of thick veg tanned leather that is dyed a period dark brown and then applied with an antique finish that gives the bag a very rich rust color. This is a gusseted bag with a very deep single inner pocket. Purse fittings are solid brass and give the bag character and style while providing the closure for the strap. A single thick strap runs from the back of the bag over the top forming a loop that will take up to a 3 inch belt.
