7th-10th Century Norse Birka Style Bag

This style of Norse/Viking purse is based on period examples found at the archaeological dig at Birka. This is a large bag made of a medium thickness oil tanned  leather that is light brown and the front of the bag is tooled with a pair of dogs in a period knotwork pattern.  This is a gusseted bag with a very deep single inner pocket. The purse closure is a single strap that ends in an ornate strap end to help keep the strap weighted down and closed, this same single thick strap runs from the back of the bag over the top forming a loop that will take up to a 3 inch belt.
