Found in many period paintings and illuminations this style of purse is simple and decorative. Made of medium brown oil tanned hide, the purse has a 2 inch wide gusseted pocket and is of a typical shape and style of the period. The purse sports brass purse flap decorations that serve as both adornment and as weight to help keep the flaps flat against the body of the purse. The lacing that closes the top of the purse as well as the cutout in the belt loops are both historically correct. The purse is kept closed by a period brass buckle and will fit up to a 2 inch belt.
