This purse is a finely tooled copy of a 14th-15th century pattern found in England , France and Germany. The body of the purse as well as the closing flap has the rounded outer edges giving it the stylized features which came to be known as the Kidney Pouch which was typical of this time period, however this design also uses a much larger outer flap with angular edges. It is tooled with intricate grid work on the outer closing flap and overall purse is is dyed in a dark red and emblazoned with the Centurion Eagle and Sable Star of the Order of the Centurions of Ansteorra. It has a large interior pocket and two outer coin purses secured with leather laces ending in decorative beads. The bag is held closed with a period brass buckle . This bag is 10 1/2 inches wide with a depth of 6 1/2 inches, the gusset is 2 1/2 inches wide.
