12th-15th Century Soldiers Bag/Tan

Found depicted in many illuminated manuscripts and paintings of the period this simple bag was used by many of common soldier while on campaign. This large purse was simple in design with a deep single pocket, created by a 2 inch wide gusset to give the bag extra width for carry everything a soldier might need while on the march. Made of thick durable leather held by a sturdy strap and heavy brass buckle. My recreation tries to hold true to the original. Made of thick 6-7 oz. leather the purse measures 10 inches across by 13 inches deep. It is alum dyed in a light tan which will only darken and cure over time with general use giving it a very period look.
