15th Century Girdle Purse/ Brown

$65.00

15th Century Turn Purse/Brown

This purse is taken from many examples found in paintings and illuminations of the 15th century. It is a “Turn Purse” meaning there is no gusset to give the bag extra width, the two panels of the purse are stitched smooth side to smooth side then the bag is “turned” inside out putting the seam on the interior of the purse. The purse is made from a light veg tanned leather that is dyed in a period color brown. The bag is kept closed with a period brass buckle. The top of the purse is held together with a simple leather lacing as was historically correct for the period. The purse will fit up to a 2 inch belt and is the perfect size for carrying a phone, keys and essentials.
