13th Century Soldiers Purse

Found depicted in many illuminated manuscripts and paintings of the period this simple purse was a staple of the common soldier. This large purse was simple in design with a deep single pocket made of thick durable leather held by a sturdy strap and heavy brass buckle. My recreation tries to hold true to the original. Made of thick oil tanned hide the purse measures 11 inches across by 9 inches deep. It is naturally dyed in a light brown which will only darken and cure over time with general use giving it a very period look.
