12th-15th Century Soldiers Bag/ Brown

Found depicted in many illuminated manuscripts and paintings of the period this simple bag was used by many a common soldier while on campaign. This large purse was simple in design with a deep single pocket, created by a 2 inch wide gusset to give the bag extra width for carry everything a soldier might need while on the march. Made of thick durable leather held by a sturdy strap and heavy brass buckle. My recreation tries to hold true to the original. Made of thick 6-7 oz. leather the purse measures 10 inches across by 13 inches deep. The leather is oil tanned hide that naturally come in a dark brown with tan highlights, which will only darken and cure over time with general use giving it a very period look.
